hostusb.dll is an extension to plug into WinUAE directory permitting some emulated sofware specially wrotten for WinUAE to access some resources from the host system (PC Windows) directly. Proceeding this way pass over the security rules on virtual machines, but there is no problem when we know what we do. The hostusb.dll gives entry points to libusb0.dll (aka libusb) and libusb-1.0.dll (aka libusbx) One of this two dll should be installed, otherwise, we have only access to files on the host machine. The Settings/Host/Miscellaneous/Allow native property must be checked into WinUAE.
